Int 0354-2024
Utilizing city-owned lots for energy storage systems.
This bill would require the Commissioner of Citywide Administrative Services, in coordination with the Office of Long-Term Planning and Sustainability, to identify city-owned lots suitable for installing energy storage systems, develop a plan to achieve the amount of energy storage capacity specified in the bill, and make annual progress reports. The bill would require that the energy storage capacity of energy storage systems on city-owned lots be at least 300 megawatts by the end of 2030 and at least 400 megawatts by the end of 2035. If that energy storage capacity is not achieved, the Commissioner of Citywide Administrative Services would be required to report on the reasons it was not achieved and to make recommendation on policies, programs, and actions to achieve the specified energy storage capacity.
