Resolution calling upon the appropriate committee of the Council of the City of New York to hold a hearing on the Mayor’s 2005 State of the City Address that announced the establishment of a “Commission on Construction Opportunity” and the “Building Jobs Through Building New York” initiative and on proposals from other parties that describe approaches to redress the historic and systemic denial of opportunities for minorities and women to receive their fair share of private and government contracts and employment in New York City.
