Int 1349-2019
Requiring the PD to implement child sensitive arrest policies.
This bill would require the Police Department to develop guidance for its officers on procedures to be followed when arresting a caregiver with a child present in order to minimize the trauma to child bystanders of arrests. It would also require the department to train its officers on the new procedures, and report on instances in which no alternate caregiver for the child can be identified.
