Int 0938-2023
Requiring the New York city police department to provide the civilian complaint review board with direct access to officer body-warn camera footage and to establish related procedures.
The bill would require the New York City Police Department to provide the Civilian Complaint Review Board (CCRB) with direct access to all footage recorded by officer body-worn cameras. This access would provide designated CCRB employees real time connectivity to network servers hosting digital files of body-worn camera footage, and permit such employees to search, view, and use files for the purpose of investigating and prosecuting allegations of police misconduct.
