Int 0766-2015
Requiring the dept of correction to post a quarterly report on the population demographics of the city's jails.
The Department of Correction (“DOC”) currently tracks certain demographic information regarding its inmates, including their age, gender, race, and the borough in which they were arrested. This bill requires the DOC to publish this information quarterly, based on the average daily population of the city’s jails for the preceding quarter.
