A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to requiring the commissioner of health and mental hygiene to conduct an assessment and develop a health agenda regarding health inequities affecting transgender, gender nonconforming, and non-binary individuals when compared to cisgender individuals, and health inequities affecting intersex individuals
This bill would require the Commissioner of the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) to conduct an assessment on health inequities affecting transgender, gender non-conforming, and non-binary (TGNCNB) individuals in light of health inequities between TGNCNB individuals and cisgender individuals, and health inequities affecting intersex individuals. The bill would require DOHMH to develop a health agenda for TGNCNB individuals and intersex individuals that includes strategies for DOHMH to address health inequities identified in the assessment. The bill would require the Commissioner of DOHMH to deliver the results of the assessment no later than September 30, 2027 and to provide a health agenda no later than September 30, 2028 and every 5 years thereafter.
