Reporting on police department compliance with freedom of information law requests.
This bill would require the Department of Investigations to annually report on the New York City Police Department’s (NYPD) compliance with the Freedom of Information Law. The report would provide recommendations on improving compliance with the Freedom of Information Law as well as data about the kinds of requests being made and the timeline on which NYPD responded to the request.
