This bill would create a temporary task force to analyze the starting and longitudinal salaries of the city’s public defenders and assistant district attorneys, particularly in comparison to salaries of attorneys at other city agencies like the Law Department. The task force will also address District Attorney’s Offices and indigent defense provider retention rates, funding, infrastructure, and caseloads.
