A Local Law to amend the New York city charter and the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to requiring the New York city department of education to report actual class sizes and expand reports on the number of students in special programs in New York city public schools
This bill would require the Department of Education (DOE) to report the actual class size of all classes in DOE schools and programs three times annually. This bill would also require the DOE to report on a district, borough, and citywide level, the number and percentage of students in special programs, disaggregated by program type, grade level, race or ethnicity, gender, special education status, and English language learner status.
