The board of correction’s access to records.
A Local Law to amend the New York city charter, in relation to the board of correction’s access to records
The New York City charter grants members of the Board of Correction and certain other designated indviduals the power to inspect all books, records, documents, and papers of the Department of Correction. This legislation amends the charter to clarify that this power includes direct and real-time remote access to the video monitoring systems being utilized by the department, with the exception of the body-worn camera system.
