Establishment of a department of emergency medical services.

A Local Law to amend the New York city charter and the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to the establishment of a department of emergency medical services

This bill would establish a Department of Emergency Medical Services, headed by a Commissioner of Emergency Medical Services. The Department would be vested with the power to perform functions and operations relating to general ambulance services, emergency medical services and other response services necessary to preserve public health, safety and welfare.
