A Local Law to amend the New York city charter and the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to abolishing the office of the public advocate
This is a bill to abolish the office of the Public advocate by removing all operative references to the office in the Administrative Code and the Charter. This bill would amend the Charter such that the Comptroller succeeds the Mayor in the event of a vacancy in the office of the Mayor. This bill would also amend the Charter and the Administrative Code to replace the Public Advocate with the Comptroller on certain boards and commissions.
