A Local Law to amend the New York city charter and the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to improving access to city services for limited English proficiency individuals
This bill would require the designation of ten languages for which all covered agencies would be required to provide language access services. Such services would include translating documents, providing interpretation services and multilingual signage. Each covered agency would also be required to develop and implement language access implementation plans to describe how such services will be provided. Monitoring and reporting on such services would also be required.
