Establishing term limits for community board members.
A Local Law to amend the New York city charter, in relation to establishing term limits for community board members.
This bill would institute term limits for community board members. Under current law, there is no limit on the number of consecutive two-year terms for which community board members may be appointed and serve. Under this bill, community board members appointed for a first term beginning on April 1, 2016 or later would be permitted to serve for a maximum of six consecutive terms (twelve years) before they could no longer serve.
