Requiring that persons making 311 complaints or requests for service provide the 311 customer service center with identifying information.
A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to requiring that persons making 311 complaints or requests for service provide the 311 customer service center with identifying information
This bill would require that the 311 customer service center (NYC311) collect identifying information from individuals making complaints or requests for service. NYC311 could only use such identifying information for internal purposes, and would be permitted to share such identifying information with responding agencies only upon request and representation by the responding agencies that necessary and appropriate steps will be taken to protect the privacy of that information. NYC311 would be required to anonymize information about complaints or requests for service before making it public and would not be authorized to share the identifying information collected under this bill with any third parties.
