Increasing oversight of certified asbestos investigators.

A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to increasing oversight of certified asbestos investigators

This bill would require that the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) conduct background checks of certified asbestos investigators (CAIs); CAI applicants have experience in investigating buildings for asbestos; and DEP institute a more frequent CAI audit system.
