A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to requiring towing companies to remove debris from the scene of an accident
This bill would require any towing company removing a vehicle from the scene of an accident to clean up any debris deposited upon the roadway by the damaged vehicle. The bill would also prohibit any towing company removing a vehicle from the scene of an accident at the direction of the Police Department pursuant to the Directed Accident Response Program (DARP) from charging for such cleanup, unless authorized by the Department of Consumer Affairs.
