Requiring the department of health and mental hygiene to create a training program for providers of pregnancy and postpartum-related services about perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to requiring the department of health and mental hygiene to create a training program for providers of pregnancy and postpartum-related services about perinatal mood and anxiety disorders
This bill would require the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) to design and implement a training program about perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. The training would be available to individuals who provide pregnancy and postpartum-related services, along with first responders and the staff of mental health crisis hotlines. DOHMH would also be required to conduct an ongoing outreach campaign to raise awareness about the availability of the training.
