A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to prohibiting low bass music originating from open-air structures and spaces used for performances or events
This bill would prohibit low bass music at a level of 40 hertz or below for a duration of 10 seconds or more that originates from open-air structures and spaces, like stadiums and fields, used for performances or events. The Environmental Control Board would impose civil penalties of $1,000 for a first violation of this prohibition, $2,000 for a second violation committed within 2 years of the first violation, and $4,000 for a third and each subsequent violation committed within 2 years of the first violation.
