Creating licensing requirements for electric bicycle or scooter businesses.

A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to creating licensing requirements for electric bicycle or scooter businesses

This bill would require electric bicycle or scooter businesses to obtain a license in order to do business in the City. Applying for a license would require electric bicycle or scooter businesses to obtain liability insurance and certify compliance with certain safety regulations. The Department of Consumer and Worker Protection would be authorized to deny or refuse to renew a license, or suspend or revoke a license, or subject businesses to civil penalties for violations of the bill’s subchapter.
