Orders to seal, secure, and close.
A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to orders to seal, secure, and close
This bill would permit the Commissioner of Buildings to commence proceedings to seal, secure and close a property where $25,000 or more in unpaid fines is owed to the city with respect to the property and the property appears to be vacant. The bill would also require 15 days’ notice to the property owner and an opportunity to pay the outstanding fines or to demonstrate that the property is not vacant prior to the property being ordered sealed, secured, and closed.
