Establishing a special inspector of cybersecurity within the DOI.

A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to establishing a special inspector of cybersecurity within the department of investigation

This bill would require the commissioner of the department of investigation to appoint a special inspector of cyber-security with the power and duties to investigate any city agency security breaches; assist and ensure compliance with security breach notification requirements; refer cyber-attacks or incidents of a security breach law enforcement agencies; ensure that any contractor has adequate cyber security to safeguard, and submit to the mayor and speaker of the council an annual report on cyber-attacks or incidents of a data breach.
