Providing internet access to shelter residents.

A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to providing internet access to shelter residents

This bill would require the Department of Homeless Services to report on the number of shelters that provide residents access to computers and the internet. The bill would also require the Department of Homeless Services to develop a plan by September 1, 2020, ensuring that all shelters provide residents access to the internet and internet-enabled computers by September 1, 2021.
