Requiring centralized siting of active transportation docking stations.
A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to requiring centralized siting of active transportation docking stations
This bill would require the Department of Transportation to group active transportation docking stations that serve the same general area, from all providers, together in a centralized location within that area when the installation or relocation of a new docking station occurs, except where otherwise prohibited by an existing contract. The bill would define active transportation to mean all non-vehicular methods of transportation that use a wheeled device propelled by human power, and also to include electric bicycles, electric skateboards and electric scooters.
