Requiring notice after a water main break.
A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to requiring notice after a water main break
This bill would provide that when a City or private water main breaks, the Department of Environmental Protection would be required to e-mail a notice to each Council Member, Borough President and Community Board whose district is affected by the break. The notice would have to be given within three hours after the break and include information about the time and location of the break, road closures, and other known adverse effects.
