Extending the protections and duties of the city human rights law to cover volunteers and existing and prospective directors, officers, members and partners of business organizations.
A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to extending the protections and duties of the city human rights law to cover volunteers and existing and prospective directors, officers, members and partners of business organizations
This bill would establish that the protections and duties provided under section 8-107 of the Administrative Code extend to existing and prospective directors, officers, members and partners of business organizations, regardless of whether these individuals are considered employees of such business organizations. In addition, this bill would make explicit that unpaid volunteers who perform work for an employer are considered employees.
