A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to the tenant protection plan and penalties for false statements relating to tenant occupancy on certain construction documents
This bill would require that construction documents for alterations contain a statement signed by the owner and applicant identifying any occupied units in the building. The bill would also establish specific civil and criminal penalties for submitting false information to obtain a building permit of no less than $10,000 for the first offense, and no less than $25,000 for each subsequent offense.
