Legal representation for incarcerated individuals placed outside the general population.
A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to legal representation for incarcerated individuals placed outside the general population
The Department of Correction sometimes houses incarcerated individuals separately from the general population in punitive segregation, enhanced supervision housing, and enhanced restraint status. This local law would give such individuals a right to counsel in hearings having to do with changes in housing status.
