Preserving bicycle lanes during street work.

A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to temporary bicycle lanes

This bill would require that permits issued by the Department of Transportation (“DOT”) for work affecting a street segment or intersection with a bicycle lane require that the permit holder maintain a temporary bicycle lane. This bill would also require that DOT provide notice of any permit authorizing work affecting a bicycle lane to the affected borough president, council member and community board.
