Protecting cable provider customers’ personally identifiable information.

A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to protecting cable provider customers’ personally identifiable information.

This bill would require cable providers in NYC to obtain consent before they can collect and use Personally Identifiable Information (PII) from customers. The bill would also prohibit cable providers from refusing to provide service to customers who do not consent to the collection of PII.
