A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to making the reckless operation of a bicycle resulting in death or serious injury a misdemeanor
This bill would impose a civil penalty for the reckless operation of a bicycle on a public street or highway, and would make it a misdemeanor when such reckless operation results in the death or serious injury of another person. The civil penalty is a fine of $50 to $100. The misdemeanor penalty is a fine of no more than $150 or imprisonment for not more than 20 days or both.
