A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to requiring that missing persons reports be checked prior to a city burial
This bill would require the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, which is responsible for the disposal of unidentified or unclaimed human remains, to check missing persons records for suspected matches and contact family members who have reported any such suspected match as missing for the purposes of identifying the remains.
