Creating a civil penalty for any individual who is convicted of fraud or property related crimes that occur in a mandatory evacuation zone during a mandatory evacuation period.

A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to creating a civil penalty for any individual who is convicted of fraud or property related crimes that occur in a mandatory evacuation zone during a mandatory evacuation period

This Local Law would create civil penalties, carrying a fine up to $50,000, for individuals who commit certain property and fraud related offenses in mandatory evacuation zones during a period of mandatory evacuation. The civil penalties can be collected independently from any criminal or civil penalty imposed.
