Notification of deed fraud investigations.

A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to notification of deed fraud investigations

This local law would require the New York City Sheriff to notify appropriate personnel at the Department of Finance, the Department of Environmental Protection, and any company providing electrical and/or gas service, as well as the local Council Member, when a property is the subject of a deed fraud investigation. The Sheriff would be required to provide such notice at the commencement and closure (including the outcome) of the investigation.
