Outreach to help cosmetologists recognize signs of domestic violence in their clients.
A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to outreach to help cosmetologists recognize signs of domestic violence in their clients
This bill requires the Mayor’s Office to End Domestic and Gender Based Violence (ENDGBV) to conduct outreach to cosmetologists that includes: trainings, an online toolkit to help the cosmetology community recognize potential signs of domestic violence in their clients, and information about resources for survivors across the five boroughs. It would also require ENDGBV to annually report on such outreach to the Mayor and the Speaker of the Council and post information about the outreach on its website.
