A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to requiring mental health assistance to persons in need following police encounters
This bill would require the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, after an encounter between a police officer and an emotionally disturbed person, to send follow-up teams to provide assistance, support, and resources to such persons.
