Facilitating food donations.

A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to facilitating food donations

This bill would require the Department of Sanitation, in conjunction with the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications, to create and maintain a web portal that will allow prospective food donors and recipients to post notifications concerning the availability of food, including food that would otherwise go to waste, and to arrange for the transportation or retrieval of such food.
