A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to strengthening the existing record-keeping requirements of pawnshops and dealers of second-hand articles
In an effort to stop the trade of stolen merchandise and to allow the NYPD to investigate allegations of criminal activity at pawnshops, this law requires pawnshops to keep more detailed records of all of their transactions.
