Requiring the dept of sanitation to install global positioning systems on all department vehicles and make the resulting data public.
A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to requiring the department of sanitation to install global positioning systems on all department vehicles and make the resulting data public
In an effort to increase transparency and efficiency, this law requires the Department of Sanitation to install GPS systems on all their vehicles. The resulting GPS data will be public so that New Yorkers can benefit by monitoring trash collection and by avoiding potential traffic delays cause by garbage trucks blocking narrow streets.
