Requiring NYC emergency responders to use appropriate bulletproof vests.
A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to requiring New York city emergency responders to use appropriate bulletproof vests
This bill requires those employees of the Fire Department of the City of New York who are required to use bulletproof vests to use only those vests that meet certain safety requirements related to their warranty, history of use, and fit. Such vests would also be required to meet standards for bullet resistance developed by the National Institute of Justice.
