A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to requiring landlords to provide tenants with documentation of damages when deducting money from a tenant’s security deposit

This bill would require landlords to provide certain documentation to tenants whenever a landlord deducts money from a tenant’s security deposit at the end of a tenancy. The documentation required would include an itemized statement of all deductions, as well as receipts or invoices for any repair costs that the landlord is deducting from the security deposit.
