Providing for translation services in large developments.
A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to the provision of a staffer in the property management and maintenance office of a large housing development whenever the population of residents who speak any language other than English exceeds 10 percent of the large housing development’s total population
Residents of large housing developments who have limited proficiency in English face difficulties requesting repairs and understanding housing-related documents. Current translation services are insufficient. This bill would require the provision of a staffer in the property management and maintenance office of a large housing development whenever the population of residents who speak any language other than English exceeds 10 percent of the large development’s total population.
