Creation of a fair hiring practices task force.
A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to the creation of a fair hiring practices task force.
This bill would create a Task Force to evaluate whether any physical testing utilized by any city agency, office, or department creates a discriminatory impact on the basis of race, gender, or any other improper ground. This Task Force would be empowered to receive cooperation from any city entity, and would issue a report with recommendations and strategies on these issues within one year of the Task Force’s final member being appointed. The Task Force would consist of 10 members, 3 of which would be appointed by the Council, 3 by the Mayor, and 4 jointly by the Mayor and Council.
