Designation of disability service facilitators at city agencies.
A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to the designation of disability service facilitators at city agencies
This bill would require the head of each city agency, in consultation with the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities (MOPD), to designate an employee as the agency’s Disability Service Facilitator (“Facilitator”). The Facilitator would be responsible for coordinating the agency’s efforts to comply with and carry out its responsibilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other federal, state, and local laws concerning accessibility for people with disabilities. Each agency would be required to post contact information for their Facilitator on their respective websites.
