Requiring the DOE to provide data related to student participation in meals provided by the dept in school.
A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to requiring the department of education to provide data related to student participation in meals provided by the department in school
This bill would require the Department of Education to submit to the Speaker of the Council and post on its website a report including data related to meals served by DOE to students in school, including breakfast served before school, breakfast served after the school day begins, lunch, afterschool snacks and after school suppers. The report would provide information about initiatives and programs aimed at increasing student participation in the meals. The report would include information about the food items offered at each meal, and would require future reports to include year-to-year comparisons with the preceding year’s report. The information required to be reported would be disaggregated by school, community school district and borough.
