Creating a civil penalty for any individual who is convicted of fraud or property related crimes that occur in a mandatory evacuation zone during a mandatory evacuation period.

A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the City of New York, in relation to creating a civil penalty for any individual who is convicted of fraud or property related crimes that occur in a mandatory evacuation zone during a mandatory evacuation period.

This bill allows the City to collect a civil fine of up to $50,000 from anyone who commits certain acts of fraud or property-related crimes in a mandatory evacuation zone during a mandatory evacuation period. The civil penalties can be collected independently from any criminal or other civil penalty imposed.
