Requiring landlords to distribute voter registration forms.

A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to requiring landlords to distribute voter registration forms.

This bill would require apartment owners to provide a voter registration form to each new tenant signing an apartment lease. The form would be provided at the time that the lease is provided for signing. Apartment owners may provide assistance in completing the form if they wish, and may also mail the form to the Board of Elections. The registration forms provided would be in English unless otherwise requested by the tenant.
