Requiring property owners and the Department of Sanitation to use a salt substitute to remove snow or ice from streets, roadways and sidewalks.

A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to requiring property owners and the department of sanitation to use a salt substitute to remove snow or ice from streets, roadways and sidewalks.

This bill would require property owners and the Department of Sanitation (DSNY) to use alternatives to rock salt when clearing snow and ice from sidewalks and streets.
