Department of citywide administrative services conducting a feasibility study on the establishment of technology-based civil service positions.
This bill would require the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS), in coordination with the Office of Technology and Innovation, to conduct a study on the feasibility of creating 20 new technology-based positions in the civil service. Such positions would be tailored toward civil service applicants who have obtained an associate’s degree, up to 2 years of vocational training, or up to 1 year of work experience following the completion of a licensed course. The feasibility study would be completed within 1 year of this local law taking effect, and a report on the findings of this study would be due to the Council within 3 months of the conclusion of the study.
