A cool pavements pilot program for parks and playgrounds under the jurisdiction of the department of parks and recreation.

Summary

The proposed unconsolidated local law would require the Department of Parks (DPR), the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) the Department of Transportation and the Office of Long-Term Planning and Sustainability to conduct a study and pilot program concerning the use of cool pavement materials on parks and playgrounds and under the jurisdiction of DPR. DPR would be required to post there results of the study and pilot on its website and submit it to the Mayor and the Speaker of the Council no later than October 1, 2029.
